Metacam 2 mg/ml Solution for Injection for Cats

What is it?
Metacam 2 mg/ml solution for injection for cats is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID)
which is a type of painkiller used to reduce pain and inflammation.

It can be used to alleviate mild to moderate post-operative pain and inflammation following surgical
procedures in cats e.g. orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery. Metacam 2 mg/ml can be followed
24 hours later, for up to 4 days with Metacam 0.5 mg/ml oral suspension for cats and guinea pigs.

Metacam 2 mg/ml injection is available in a 10 ml bottle.

How is it administered?
Metacam 2 mg/ml solution for injection should be administered subcutaneously to cats.

Important information
Metacam can only be obtained with a prescription. For cats weighing less than 2 kg, Metacam®
0.5 mg/ml oral suspension for cats and guinea pigs should be used. For further information about
